This year was the turn of the Liberal community to host the ‘all night’ discussion tradition of Shavuot. As usual, we do not manage the ‘all-night’ instruction, but we did have interesting talks and views on the topic Jewish by birth, Jewish by choice. The Liberal community have a number of proselytes, those wishing to study to become Jewish and the NHC also have some Friends who are hoping to do that too, so the talks and discussion made for an interesting evening. The traditional cheese cake too was an added attraction. Thank you to the NLJC for their hospitality. Our own Shavuot service was well attended, which also included Yizkor, a must for many people to remember their departed loved ones.
