There will be a number of events organised by different groups to commemorate the Centenary of the 1917 Balfour Declaration.
Thursday 2nd November – CCJ talk ‘The Arab Citizens of Israel’ by Liz Sawczenko, the Vice-Chairman of the CCJ
Saturday 4th November – A talk about the Balfour Declaration by Luke Akehurst from the organi-sation ‘We believe in Israel’. This will be preceded by a Shabbat lunch.
The stamps shown above were issued by Israel to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration in 1967. The text and photographs below were included with the official first day cover.
