As it says in the song “Hanukkah, hu chag tov,” Hanukkah is a great Holiday. At least 40 adults and 16 children celebrated lighting the eighth candle on Sunday 13th December. At tables dreidels were spinning, doughnuts and latkes were eaten. Small children passed the parcel and danced. Thanks to contributions of food and Hanukkah Gelt from our special Cheder supporters and Cheder mums and dads there was plenty to go round. The Hall was noisy, with chatter and background mu-sic, festive with balloons, tinsel, the children’s art work and crepe paper streamers. A request for party games for adults was made for next years event!
A celebration for religious freedom is always a good time to give and enable other children to enjoy being Jewish. The Tzedakah beneficary (£90) was the PJ Library (free Story books for Jewish Children around the world) who have written to say: “….Thank-you! You have really inspired our team with your email and your community’s generosity! It looks like it was a very special celebration and we have loved looking at the photos. We, in turn, would love to send you a spe-cially made PJ Library Tzedakah Box which includes a pack of PJ kindness cards I hope the children all en-joy, as a token of our appreciation.”

Thank you NHC for a lovely afternoon, there’s no party without party people.
