Sybil Green: 1921 – 2012

Sybil was born in Liverpool in 1921. She left school at the age of 14 and found work as a machinist in the fur trade. In 1940 she proudly joined the Royal Artillery and worked on the AA guns at Felixstowe. However, after her hearing became affected, she retrained as a dental nurse. After the war, Sybil met Mark at a dance in London. They were engaged after three weeks and married after six months. This extremely happy and successful marriage lasted 65 years. There were two children Susan and Stephen and five grandchildren.

Sybil had many interests, including the theatre, concerts, The National Trust, auctions, cooking, travelling, supporting West Ham United and gardening.

Sybil was extremely popular and was much loved by all who knew her.
