We were extremely fortunate last week to have the famous Stephen Melzack in Norwich to attend an RE conference at UEA and he kindly took time out to come to the Shul to entertain children from our Cheder.
Seven youngsters and six adults were spellbound by Stephen’s charisma and talent as he sang a number of songs, all of which he had composed, the most famous being “Two Candles Burn” and song for Friday night. The picture below shows Stephen with the children holding up their fingers to represent “Two Candles Burning”.
A number of other songs were also sung, e.g., Its My Mezuzah, We know a Man (Chanukah) and Celebrate. Great fun for all with everyone to joining in and to round off a lovely evening we had pasta, tomato sauce and cheese for supper.
