This has been another busy few months at NHC. We continue with our fundraising for the communal hall and have been heart warmed by the generosity of local individuals and organisations. Last week we heard that the children of a local high school are to donate some of the proceeds of their ’non uniform day’ appeal to our project! Nick Simons and I have been interviewed in the press, on radio, newspaper and Mustard TV, a new experience for us both! Some of these articles are more accurate than others as we have no say in what is printed. You will find links to some of these press arti-cles on the website at www.norwichsynagogue.org.uk. The architect’s plans are now available in the shul hall for you to look at, do let us have your comments. I would like to thank those of you who have already do-nated or given us ideas for future fundraising. I am officially launching our appeal for funds below. I am delighted to say that our services have been rea-sonably well attended these last few months with a minyan each week for over 8 weeks. We held a lovely seder on the first night of Pesach, and thanks to Poppy for her catering efforts here and to Daniel for leading the seder. Marsha and Todd continue to be very busy teaching large numbers of children; last week they welcomed a group of profoundly disabled children into the shul to learn about Judaism through a sensory session which included tasting challah and wine, feeling some of the religious artefacts and smelling the spices. We held our AGM in April and in due course will be circulating the minutes to all members on email, a new initiative for us. The short version of a new safeguard-ing policy is on the notice board, and the full policy in a red box file in the hall. Members may have noticed that the new CCTV is up and running and the CST are able to view this from their offices in London and by me on my iPad!
