Remembrance Sunday 2017 was the first year that Queen Elizabeth II did not lay a wreath at the Cenotaph in London, however, for the Norwich Hebrew Congregation 2017 was the first year that we were represented in the Norwich City Service of Remembrance when Barry Leveton was proud to lay a wreath on behalf of the Congregation.
We think that Barry is one of only three living members who served in the British armed forces. The fine war memorial situated in the vestibule of the Synagogues indicates that 10 members of the congregation lost their lives in the wars (7 in the WWI and 3 in WW2).
